February 2004 and the Jining to Tongliao passenger heads out into flat country having passed through the hills around Chabuga on the last leg to Tongliao. The sun has just risen producing this golden glint along the full length of the train. The motion of the carriages causes flurries of snows beside the track.
These passengers are totally unaware that they are on the last long distance steam hauled train in the world - 900 km plus of steam hauled traction.
