Out of the ashes will come new growth. But yes to think of the immense span of time that is so quickly snuffed out is a sobering thought

I, too, thought this image showed a timber-lined hillside enveloped in fog . . . but then I saw the brown tinge to it on the left-hand side . . . and knew it had to be smoke. So very tragic. All of those precious trees! It just makes me heartsick!
