The short walk into the Everglades was quite the experience. While I didn't see another soul (one of the benefits of visiting at the height of mosquito season), it was incredibly loud. Birds, frogs, alligators and insanely loud insects created a symphony that got louder as it got later in the evening. A cloudless sky turned into a surprise thunderstorm that filled the sky with beautiful light before the sun went down.
