congrats...very nice pan shot and a deserving win.
But first I would like to say Kudos to the judge
..I wanna say on one hand there were tough choices to be made
On the other hand it seems as if it must have been easy to toss 25-30% or more right off the top for not meeting the criteria of a pan shot as they were tech. just motion blur or stop motion , many fine photos in there own right but not for this contest ....
Sharron IMO there are several things in this shot that all came together to make this a winner ...one is the timing in stride of both horses , I don/t think it would have worked as well had the horses been in lock step 2, is the 2 contrasts in color between the two horse AND 3 , both of the completley different contrasting colors in the back ground .....that gave each horse ,,the backdrop and the ground all seperated and distinct from one Another the necks and flying tails and manes with the light coming throgh them was a bonus each of these and other factors ,pan speed , lens choice etc. all coming together gave it that beautiful flow and feel of motion thats the hallmark of a great Pan shot ...enjoy the new camera
