I was photographing a series of ducks and swamphens at Audley Weir, Royal National Park, NSW, and when, out of nowhere, this gorgeous fellow landed on a branch of a dead tree in the middle of the lake. I've never seen Azure kingfisher in real life before and I feel so privileged. The Azure kingfisher is a small kingfisher (6.7 - 7.5 inches), found in Northern and Eastern Australia and Tasmania.
