Flaco spent over 5 hours in the birth canal and was born without a sack. Once he got up on his feet to nurse, his mom violently attacked him. She was trying to kill him by flipping him way up in the air with her horns and by rising up on her hind legs and stomping down on him with her front hooves. I just couldn't walk away and let nature take it's course, and Flaco was fighting to live, so I wrapped him in a warm blanket and carried him up to my house to be bottle fed. It didn't take Flaco long to begin to flourish. I fostered him along with 2 other "special needs" babies, inside my house, for 1 month. All 3 babies grew to be strong, healthy goats. Now Flaco lives in the barnyard with the herd of big mama goats. He's so strong now and just sweet as ever. If I could still pick him to cuddle him, I would.
