My husband have me a mixed bouquet of differently coloured roses for Valentine's day one year. I used the flowers for an exposure experiment, using two off-camera flash canons and an extension tube for close-up effect (I do not own a macro lens). I wondered what it would look like if I over-exposed the rose on purpose. There are already so many traditional rose close-ups in existence and I felt that this might be something that I could one day use as a background for a card or something. The disadvantage of digital photography was to my advantage that day. Whenever you over-exposed in the old days of film, there would almost always still be some definition in the overexposed parts. But trust digital captures to go completely white. Not a pixel in sight, when you over-expose. I feel it works well in this capture and almost feel like squeezing my eyes shut againt the explosion of light. This is the result straight from the raw image. What do you think?
