This face that is in this tree is in our local interment camp site. This is where all the German emigrants in our little coal mining town were held during the second world war, including my Grandfather. The trail is quite an experience to walk through. The recorded history shows they were treated very well while they were prisoners there. I'm not sure why they put these faces throughout the trail through the woods. Myself, I find them very creepy.
