Hawker Sea Fury VX281 was part of the flypast as HMS Illustrious came into Portsmouth for the last time, July 22nd 2014. This aircraft suffered a crash landing caused by engine failure and landing gear collapse at RNAS Culdrose little more than a week after this shot was taken. The pilot walked away unaided and without injury. The aircraft has since been restored and is flying again.
