Well, we had Romans, Saxons, Viking, then Normans, Tudors, Georgians, you name it. They all did a great job for us, eh, Anne?

Once again Mick I find myself 'sitting' in your capture watching life go by. So beautifully detailed and dimensional. Oh the history here, you do justice to this incredible architecture! xx

Thanks Sal, except there was no life at the time, unless you are referring to aquatic and avian one. The place was dead throughout the morning. Someone must have whistled to them that I was coming...

Thanks Pamela! The Romans called it "Aquae Sulis" (the waters of Sulis) and this later evolved to what we all know as Bath. Water is the sole reason for this city's being and wherever in the city you might be, you feel surounded by water.

Thanks Paul! I still can't believe how quiet the place was at the time of the photo...
