Crossing paths with a stag can be daunting at the best of times but, when they're also really inquisitive, it can get pretty hairy! This young buck was with a doe and fawn and was more than happy to boop him on the nose with my finger while he was trying to sniff out if I had any treats for him. Clearly he's been fed by humans at some point, which became very clear as he kept following me and if I stopped, he would sniff everywhere trying to get at my lunch. I'm pretty sure that he had forgotten the huge antlers on his head, as he almost took my eye out a few times.
Moral is, don't feed the wildlife! Plant the trees, shrubs and grasses that they feed on naturally instead ????
