These amazing Sway pole performers are members of the British Graeae Theatre Company, which comprises artists with physical and sensory disabilities. Sway is a unique and physically challenging style of performance where the artists are attached to the top of tall, flexible poles. They swoop and dive in graceful and balletic style at dizzying and breathtaking speed.
The Sway artists were participating in the colourful 'Seeds of Change' Paralympic Flame-lighting ceremony at the Guttmann Stadium, Stoke Mandeville. Held at the birthplace of the Paralympics, the ceremony honoured founder Sir Ludwig Guttmann, past Paralympic athletes and those competing in Rio.
