Not sure what this instrument was. It is made of wood and played like a violin. However, it sounds sort of like a flute similar to that played by Native Americans. It has two strings which he worked with his left hand and what appears to be a rag stuffed in a hole on the end of the wood cylinder. Change the pitch?
