The Cahaba River flows through the southern suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama then turns southward. Part of the river is included in the National Wildlife Refuge located about 25 miles south of I-59 between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. The Cahaba Lilies are found here during the spring time (May being the best time to see them).
