It took about 3 hours of moderate hiking, across rolling hills and through incredible vistas and cloud forests, finally arriving at the Acaime hummingbird sanctuary, at around 1800 meters elevation. I was tired, but found plenty of energy trying to capture the swarms of hummingbirds enjoying the sweet nectar of the feeders and nearby flowers.
