Great capture Lester! Tell me please, how do you find the 200-500mm lens? I have been thinking to buy it, but I am hearing contradicting reviews. They say some copies can be extremely good, some other not. How does the lens perform at the top end of the focal range?

at that I also crop, and all are practically handheld. I am purely an amateur, maybe if you had a chat to a professional they may give you a better insight. I have heard that some need to be fine tuned to the camera. Hope this does not confuse the issue. Best Regards. Lester

Hi Mick just another thought. Maybe you should hire one for a few days, and give it a try👍

Lester, thanks for the info mate. I will re-visit the subject and maybe buy one from a place that has a return policy. I have way too many issues in the past with telezoom lenses and the way they couple onto the sensor and got involved with endless arguments with both Nikon and Canon. My photography genre is normally landscapes and most shooting I do is with primes, anyway. It is just for the odd bird occasion. Thanks for that!
