Hattingen, hometown of the iron men.
In 1996, 15 of these iron men were erected as a temporary memorial at the Henrichshütte for the 600th anniversary of the city of Hattingen.
These were intended to remind of the struggle to maintain the steel location.
Since the end of the exhibition, 3 of these 600kg men have been standing at the city wall in Hattingen, one is in Mainz, another in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, and one in Frankfurt.
The remaining 8 went to the artist who had guarded them so far.
Thanks to donations and cooperation, these have now come home and have been permanently installed in the Hüttenpark next to the Henrichshütte for a few days.
