This gothic cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula is located on a hill near the center of Brussels, in walking distance to the Grand' Place. Its history dates back to the 9th century - it was restored in a gothic style over 300 years (from 1226 to 1519 which marks the beginning of the reign of Emperor Charles V).
