The sewage treatment plant was built between 1908-1909 and is one of the last plants in the world, from the first generation of sewage treatment plants. It was in operation until 1962 and ensured the purification of all sewage from the city and its industry. The building of the sewage treatment plant is a fascinating building. It is shaped in Art Nouveau style and a rarity in terms of architectural history: one of the first artistic, sculptural and completely concrete-shaped buildings.
