Always a very exciting photo contest! Thank you to all the participants that shared their spooky halloween photos and a special thanks to our friends at Package Choice , the insurance for professional photographers, for making this competition possible.

We truly appreciate the collaboration of professional photographer Ben Locke in selecting the following winners:

"When Viewbug asked me to judge the Halloween contest, I was more than happy to accept. I thought it would be fun. Indeed, it was. But I wasn't quite prepared for how difficult it would be to settle on the winners. The final selection of images all adhered to the Halloween theme perfectly, despite the range and inventiveness of their interpretations. The amount of work and time that has been put in to all of them is immediately apparent, and I've actually delayed submitting my decision a couple of times just to make sure I'm happy. It's all subjective of course. All ten finalists thoroughly deserved their place, and any of them would have been a credible winner. Ultimately, I've chosen the images that held my attention the longest, that kept me coming back for another look. Congratulations to all the finalists." - Ben

Congratulations to photog84 winner of the $200 B&H gift card and the year of ViewBug PRO with photo Undead

"My winning photograph is 'undead'. It's a truly chilling image with real impact. Less is definitely more in this shot. The blackness only serves to compound the fear. The light and shadow accentuates the grotesque sores brilliantly, and emphasises the confused emptiness that we can only imagine in her eyes, set deep under the furrowed brow. Fantastic work." - Ben

Congratulations to Khder winner of the $150 B&H gift card with photo Zombies

"These girls must have had an absolute blast shooting this scene. I love a good zombie film, and this is like something straight out of a Robert Kirkman comic. The inclusion of the little girl, oblivious to her impending welcome to the ranks of the undead, adds a shock and urgency to the image that works brilliantly. Compositionally, I think I'd have liked to have seen a bit less sky so that there was no cropping of feet, but that's easy for me to say - I've never shot a horde of blood-thirsty zombies before." - Ben

Congratulations to Tolstov winner of the $100n B&H gift card with photo Blind Halloween

"The stuff of nightmares, despite the dark humorous twist provided by the eyeball decoration adorning the hat. The empty soulless eyes and make-up make a compelling image. I particularly liked the minimal use of colour in this image." - Ben
