Congratulations to sarahduvall winner of the Ice Light by Westcott with photo Let Light Shine
“The composition and layout of the photo is compelling and dynamic, and more importantly for this contest, makes superb use of light and shadows. The antler shadows on the wall add a palpable tension; pointing at the subject further enhances that dynamic. It’s also a very good B&W conversion, maintaining highlight detail very well.” – Joseph
Congratulations to rturnbow the People’s Choice and winner of the year of ViewBug PRO with photo Death of the Beast
Congratulations to the following Runners Up:

“The poes, expression and props all contribute to a very good photograph. The lighting may not be complex but it makes use of light and shadow very successfully. The eyes are kept out of shadow, and none of the shadows are too dark. I would like to see more detail in the highlight on the hair, however. Losing texture there is unfortunate, and distracting. Otherwise though this is a very good image.” – Joseph

“Light and shadow are what create this image; the artfully painted shadows and spotlights draw the eye where you want it to go, and allow the eye to travel around the scene, finding more and more to see.” – Joseph
