The Caracara is a striking bird of prey with its creamy white head and orange face. It mainly spends a lot of time on the ground.
The Caracara weighs 850 - 1500 grams and has a length of 49 - 59 centimeters.
Normally it will try to steal the food from other birds such as vultures. They are therefore real scavengers. Their food consists of carrion (game, fish), lizards, eggs, chicks, frogs, rotting vegetables, worms and insects.
They lay 2 to 3 eggs in a self-built nest. The nest is built in a tree or swamp and consists of dry branches.
It is native to the southern USA, the Caribbean and South America.

The road and it's colors are fantastic. Then the view of the bird as it's wings are, doing what they do pre-landing!~ Great capture!~
