The Maine Coon is one of the most popular cat breeds in the world. It is a super nice breed. They are beautiful, sweet and very intelligent.
They are descended from long-haired cats such as the Angora, Persian, and Norwegian Forest Cat. This breed was not bred but arose completely naturally.
It is therefore one a natural breed and that is why this cat breed is often strong and very healthy.
They owe their name to the place where they originally come from, MAINE, a state in North America. And the rest of the name comes from a crazy myth, because this breed was once thought to be a cross between cats and racCOON. But that story is not true, for it is biologically impossible to cross a cat with a raccoon.
