Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the City of Hanoi, Vietnam.

Time

On an evening stroll, it must have been around 10pm or 11pm

Lighting

he lighting consisted only of a street lamp, and, if this caused some technical problem, it gave the image, together with the cooking smoke, a very interesting atmosphere.

Equipment

Shot with a Fuji XT2 mirrorless and a lens 18/135, freehand "handyman" excellent, without tripod, according to the typical style of Street Photography, so no flash.

Inspiration

what I found interesting was the smoky atmosphere and the concentrated expression of the woman, together with the traditional Vietnamese headdress

Editing

Normal RAW file development, some clarity, contrast and a modicum of saturation

In my camera bag

I usually take my trusty Fuji XT2 / 3 with me lenses: Fujinon 18/135 - 55/200. Well charged spare batteries, memory cards and nothing else, I really like to travel light.

Feedback

My personal advice is to equip yourself with quality equipment, but as light as possible and that you don't notice too much. It also has to cope well with high ISOs because you often work at ISO 3200/6400 I don't use like many other 50mm lenses. because I prefer to stay a little further away from the subject so as not to disturb and not to lose the spontaneity of expression.
