Since the KP index was already 5 before sunset, I used the twilight light to find an optimal spot. Once I found it, I waited impatiently until it was dark enough to see the Northern Lights. I also checked various webcams in areas where it was already dark. The northern lights were nowhere to be seen. That couldn't be at all with KP 5? Luckily I didn't have to wait long and the show began - a bit subdued at first, but with beautiful colors, then it all increased...
