Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Warner Bros studio in London. Fun fact this is a foot tall model castle.

Time

Early afternoon, as it was inside the studio I used my own lights to light up the castle the way I wanted.

Lighting

Where do I even begin, the studio lights where just at the right angle the separate the castle from the background and by using my pocket lights I was able to create a “natural” look for the castle. It helps if you know exactly what you want your pictures to look like beforehand.

Equipment

I used a Sony a7rii with a Sigma 85mm f1.4 and some pocket lights by Aputure

Inspiration

As a huge fan of Harry Potter I wanted to feel how the actors would have felt filming the movie so making this 1ft model come to life was a success in my book

Editing

I used Lightroom to turn the image black and white, adjusted the brightness and that’s about it

In my camera bag

It would take ages to write all this down. My must haves are: Sony a7c, a7rii, Dji mini 2, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Sony 24mm and 35mm f1.4 gm. But there is few more lenses and accessories in the bag at all time.
