Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Joshua Tree National Park near Palm Springs, California.

Time

We were nearing our journey through Joshua Tree National Park and the sun was beginning to set and a few clouds had come in. As we came to this curve, I grabbed my camera because I thought the road looked like it was saying "Where Do I Go?" It seemed that we were going around a curve into nowhere. Love going to National Parks!

Lighting

Lighting in this photo just happened naturally. Nature is always the best lighting.

Equipment

Nikon D5600 was used and the photo was taken through the windshield of my car. Had to grab it quick!

Inspiration

Nature is always my inspiration as well as adventures. My husband and I love adventures and it is where I have taken my best photos. Just keep your eyes open and wait for the next beautiful sight!

Editing

Mostly I use Lightroom and PhotoShop. For this one I used a Lightroom preset that brought out the dark colors in the clouds and still showed the light coming through.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D5600 and my usual go-to lens is a Sigma 18-35 mm. I have found it is the most consistent lens in my bag.

Feedback

Always keep your eyes open when on the road. You never know what is around the next turn that will take your breath away!
