Macro Abstract Object Study Art Photography. A complex composition telling the detailed story of an old ship's buoy as it lives it's last life slowly , but beautifully , corroding on the quayside in the graveyard of the no longer used articles at Holyhead Marina on the Isle of Anglesey. The image was taken at a specific time to make the most of the natural light and it's effect on the contrast and rich colour saturation of the rust and rope strands in view. This natural manipulation was used as it is my personal preference artistically to try to achieve the results I require with the camera alone , and with little to no editing in the lightroom. This is the unedited version of the image. The composition was achieved by using shallow depth macro techniques and a very low POV and side tilt to the lens angle. Taking it as a portrait instead of a landscape enhanced the detail of the area in view as well as exaggerating the optical illusion of length in the rope section and the 3D nature of the object in study.
