Taken at sunrise , with telephoto zoom , from the edge of the lake , after it had frozen , at Penrhos Coastal Park and Woodland Reserve near Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey off the North Wales Mainland in the UK . This poor pair of black headed gulls in winter colouration got an unexpected surprise when they tried to land and enjoy their usual rest and feed when they favourite spot had turned into a skating rink and no amount of forlorn pecking at the surface got them what they truly desired. Freezing cold and slipping around this bending gull showed the general mood of the full population , a gang of gulls with unhappy feet. Wildlife Action Photography in Winter.
