The construction of the modern church of the reformed congregation in 2012 near Ede was not without a struggle. Several local residents objected to the construction.
The building would not fit in with the agricultural environment and local residents found especially the height and size an eyesore. The spire of 27 meters is equal to the height of a nine-story apartment building.
It took them 5 years of struggle before construction was allowed to start.
