I took this photo in Miami Florida in a suite at the Hyatt Downtown. This was one of my early shoots where I worked with professional models. When I first met Cora I felt right at home with her as her personality made me feel comfortable and ready to get some great shots.Time
This was an indoor shoot so outside light influences was not a factor.Lighting
With Cora my main interest was to light up her beautiful tan skin colors without washing them out. So I used a single off camera strobe with a honeycomb over a 28" round lightbox.Equipment
This shot was with a Canon 5D Mark III and a Canon 70-200mm Lens.Inspiration
Cora inspired me in so many ways as her natural beauty and poses allowed for creativity that was so organic that nothing seemed posed at all. I would say to her... well let's see what we can do with that couch and then Cora just went to town with so many beautiful poses all's I could do is trigger my shutter button. We took many photos that afternoon with about 5 wardrobe changes. We used that couch, windows, mirrors, tables, chairs and the bed to make one of my favorite photo shoots to date.Editing
Cora's almost perfect skin did not require any touch up. I did some basic color and exposure adjustments. In my camera bag
Well... today I carry two Canon's a 5Ds. and a 5D Mark IV Canon 2.8 70-200 ILS III Canon 1.8 50mm Tamron 1.8 85mmFeedback
If you are working with models find someone that is both professional and has a great personality as this will help so much with your shoot. Your shots will look so much more natural rather than posed. Make a connection with your subjects as this will help bring more of themselves out and it will show in your photos. I work with many people and models from the most inexperienced to a gal like Cora. I find that always the best thing is to talk with your subjects and tell them how great they look to build their confidence. Show them the photos from time to time on the camera so they can see the work being done.
