This was taken in Bissell Park in Elora, Ontario. Famous for its gorge this is a busy tourist town but with Covid this year, not as many people as usual we here so it was a joy to walk in the less traveled areas like this.Time
This was taken early fall and just at the start of sunset.Lighting
The lighting was pure nature! The sun was setting to the right and shining through the trees just enough to light them up like fire. No other light was needed!Equipment
For this shot, because it was so beautiful in itself, I just used my little Canon Powershot which is always in my bag.Inspiration
My husband and I had been hiking all day, and we were just headed back to the car along the same path we had walked out on when we saw this scene. We must have stayed here for about an hour talking different shots because it was so beautiful. Just proves that you should always look behind you as well as in front!Editing
I just straightened it up a bit, and tweaked the contrast. It was good as it was! Sometimes you can't beat reality. In my camera bag
Usually when we go for a walk, I just carry my point and shoot canon and sometimes a tripod. Unfortunately this time I didn't have the tripod.Feedback
I think autumn is the most beautiful time to catch color. Go out on sunny days with a few light clouds and blue sky. And then just walk in the park or forest, looking all around you, because sometimes the best shot is where you aren't looking. Golden hour or just before sunset is when the colors come alive.
