Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the summer of 2017 while I was working on a cruise ship. We were cruising through the Tracey Arm Fjord in beautiful Alaska, and this is just one of many beautiful views you get to experience.

Time

It's funny, but this was taken during my lunch break around 2 PM. It was my routine to go on open deck after my lunch and take photos and enjoy the views.

Lighting

I am fairly new to photography, I take photos and learn from mistakes. This photo was just a moment and no planning went into it.

Equipment

Unfortunately, I used my Samsung phone to take this photo. It just happened to be a perfect moment.

Inspiration

I love landscapes and nature. This was love on a first sight. The mountains, clouds, trees and just the way it was framed worked so well.

Editing

I didn't do much with this photo as it wasn't shot raw. Worked a bit on contrast and clarity.

In my camera bag

Now that I am learning more and more about photography, I sure am prepared more. Currently, I carry my Canon EOS Rebel SL1 with my Tamron 18 - 200 mm F/3.5 - 6.3 and my new tripod.

Feedback

Be prepared, expect unexpected, be aware of your surroundings, be patient, learn your camera, practice, take a lot of photos and see what is missing, plan, plan, plan.
