I took this photo on my Birthright trip to Israel, the exact location is on the top of Masada Mountain, a mountain nearly as holly as Jerusalem. http://masada.org.il/enTime
I believe i took the photo around noon.Lighting
I believe i took the photo around noon, but there was a haze in the sky from some blown up sand which helped disperse the light more evenly. Also, the rocks were quite reflective which gave the subject great natural fill light!Equipment
My Cannon 70D with my Cannon 17-40mm L.Inspiration
The birds on top of Masada were borderline flirtaseous. They would follow us when we traveled from one part of the ruin to the other, they would land and flap their wings like kings trying to win our favor and our snacks. I swear one of them even tried to nuzzle me. I couldn't help but take a photo of the first bird that ever flirted with me.Editing
The photo was a little underexposed so i brightened it up about .5 stops. In my camera bag
I normally carry my cannon 70d is my primary paired up with my 17-50mm L, and my tri pairs up with my 50mm 1.4, and then i also carry my Cannon 70-200 m2 L .Feedback
Try to have work with a Fast Shutter and lots of evenly distributed natural light when you can. Also, don't be afraid to bribe the subject with a bit food. The funny thing is i am actually terrified of birds, but this experience helped me overcome that. A good model, human or not, should help you grow as an artist and even a person if you allow them to.
