Behind The Lens

Location

At my house on my back deck.

Time

This was about mid afternoon when I took the shot. When the sun was just on the other side of the house so I didn’t get any glare.

Lighting

It was all natural lighting. Taking this out side I found a shaded spot on my deck so that way I didn’t have a piercing flare of light in the glass bottle

Equipment

I used my Nikon D3300 and my lens was a 18-55mm lens for the macro shot.

Inspiration

I love dandelions and I wanted to experiment with macro photography so I thought why not start with some dandelions.

Editing

Yes the only post processing was changing the photo from Color to black and white in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I always have my 18-55mm lens on my camera. It’s the one I use the most. Then I have a macro attachment lens to get in super close for those perfect shots. For further shots that require zoom I carry a Nikon 200mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. A tripod because you never know when the time calls for some long exposure shots of rivers or sun sets. And last I carry lens wipes to clean my camera lenses constantly. Especially when you deal with sand or rain or snow.

Feedback

Patience. I took well over 300 shots at various angles and was practicing trying to get the right shot and angle and sturdiness so I didn’t have motion blur. Practice makes perfect especially when dealing with macro photography.
