Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my hometown near the Zwet. A beautiful lake with many plants and animal species. Bordering a unique peat meadow area (the largest nature reserve of its kind in Western Europe).

Time

In the early morning when everything is still peaceful. 27-march-2019 at 6:31:32 AM

Lighting

Everything comes out much nicer in the early morning striking light. This is also the case for this beautiful characteristic scene. I was fortunate to have a clear pattern of clouds in the sky showing the red glow of the rising sun.

Equipment

Nikon D800 -- Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 -- Gitzo tripod -- Really Right Stuf ballhead.

Inspiration

The old Dutch Masters from the golden age.

Editing

This is one shot. I used Capture One Pro.

In my camera bag

Nikon D800, Nikon D850, 14-24mm f/2.8, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-200 f/2.8, Nikon Micro 105mm, Lee filters and polarizer, NiSi filters and polarizer, cleaning stuff.

Feedback

Keep an eye on the weather forecast. And if the weather conditions are favorable, schedule a photo via Photopills. Get out early and enjoy the environment, peace and landscape. Try to look at different perspectives of the same scene with an artist's eye. Also take different pictures from certain angles. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't work all at once. But go on quietly.
