Location
This photo was taken in a Chinese garden located in a secluded area at Taipa Island in Macau, China. Although it is not a crowded place it often has people strolling around so it was quite challenging to have this series done there.Time
This is done in morning time. We choose this time because we would probably get less people walking around. It also had just rained a lot overnight and early morning so it was the perfect scenario (minus the mosquitoes).Lighting
This was shot mostly on natural light with just a bit of filling light coming from an off camera flashlight located on the right side of the image. Very simple light settings as I said it had to be done very quickly to avoid encounters with other people.Equipment
Canon EOS 7D Mk II Sigma 24-105 F4 Art Lens Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RTInspiration
I had been in that place before and had take a couple of shoots there but I was not fully pleased with the results. To be this garden has a special vibe that I wanted to pass like a "Chinese Eden Garden". In that sense I searched for a model that could be by "Chinese Eve" and I managed to do so with Vonny Lang. She did Great.Editing
Just a few light corrections and a bit of general smooth :)In my camera bag
The equipment that I used here is pretty much my walkabout gear... the multipurpose one as I needed to be prepared for a series of on-the-spot decisions according to the conditions encountered. Normally in those cases I have: Canon EOS 7D Mk II Sigma 24-105 F4 Art Lens Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT adding often a Canon EF 50mm F1.4 or the Sigma 35 F1.4 Art lens.Feedback
Look around, see what catches your eye and attention. I often see people very concerned with WHERE but then they come up with close-up shots that could virtually be done anywhere without making a difference. My advice is: If you are seeking for the right place, make it worthy.
