I was driving home from work when I saw these beautiful rays forming in the sky. I ran home and grabbed my camera. I started snapping right away, but the problem was I couldn't get a good view... I had to drive around looking for a view without power lines and houses. I was so afraid the rays would be gone by the time I found a good spot. Luckily by the time I reached the best view, the rays were at the peak of their brilliance! I was so happy I almost cried LOLTime
This was just before sunset.Lighting
Nothing special that I did with the lighting... Mother Nature created the perfect lighting here!Equipment
Honestly, this photo was taken before I even thought about purchasing a dslr...it was taken with a point n shoot camera (Nikon Coolpix)... there is nothing technically special about this photo, but it is so special to me because it sparked a passion for photography that I never knew existed in me. Since then, I've purchased a dslr and have expanded my interests to other landscapes, pets, people and portraits. If I had not seen that sky, I might not have ever discovered this overwhelming passion!!Inspiration
I think the photo speaks for itself LOL... anybody with a photographer's heart will agree that when you see something this striking in the sky, you have to capture it! I remember seeing all these people driving by and looking at me like I was crazy, but I couldn't understand why they weren't in awe of this amazing sight!Editing

I purchased my first dslr about 10 months ago... now I keep a Nikon D7100 and I take pictures of anything and everything :-) ... I keep a wide angle lens, a F1.8 50mm, and a 300 zoomFeedback
For captures like this, it's all a matter of being in the right place at the right time...Just keep your eyes open and watch the sky :-) (and keep a camera with you LOL)
