Location
In my village near Chiangmai is a series of flood lagoons, around which are a good many species of Dragonfly of which this is one.Time
Time I shot this would be between 11-0am & mid day.Lighting
Lighting was a bit hit and miss, cloudy with stiff breeze making light change quickly.Equipment
I use a set-up with a mono pod adapted to a belly pod with a small ball joint, putting the camera strap around my neck and resting the bottom of the monopod in my tummy & pointing the camera at the subject, this virtually eliminates camera shake resulting in at least six out of ten shake free shots, I'm using a Fuji X-T2 camera with the fuji 55mm-200mm lens, no need for a macro, can stand 3-4 feet away from insects so as not to scare them away, oh & yes, I use a shutter release cable.I tend to concentrate on wild life, birds & insects, and wander about my village regularly looking for objects to shoot.Inspiration
When i'm searching for suitable subjects I'm looking to make pictures rather than entomology photos, and this was one of those pictures.Editing
Very little, slight light adjustment and cropping. In my camera bag
On my routine walkabouts just spare batteries and SD cards.Feedback
Iv'e detailed this advice earlier in what equipment, if you can copy my setup as near as you can you will be amazed at the quality of your pic's.
