A beautiful Impala ram (Aepyceros melampus) catching some early morning Sun rays to warm up for a long day in the Kruger safari.
Impalas are the most common antelope of the bushveld regions of South Africa, are pretty much at the bottom of the food chain and most common travel photography subject when you go on a Safari. Most of the large carnivores are preying upon them and what is even more interesting, young calves are a common prey for Pythons. This constant predation pressure has driven Impalas to one of the most breathtaking adaptation one can see on the Safari - incredible 3 meters high and 12 m long leaps while they flee.
