JMT DAY 24 - KEARSARGE LAKE AT SUNSET
Kearsarge Lake at sunset
As if the sky was split in half.
As if a catastrophic explosion was happening. Just like supernova.
On Planet Earth everything stood still.
Except for the void that was sucking the colors out fast.
Orange, pink and soon red. Then, it faded into grey. Without warning.
And the remnants of colors lingered as if a star reached the end of its lifecycle.
Soon darkness fell all around me.
The juxtaposition of the calm water that I was able to see the bottom of the shallow part of the lake against the pending color burst over the pinnacles was just tantalizing.
As if this was the moment all I’d been waiting for...
At least, I had been waiting for this all day.
And suddenly patience is a virtue came to mind.
