Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my city of Kingston Upon Hull in the UK. This street is called Prince Street and its a well known street to the city for it been small and narrow, and some brightly painted houses.

Time

This was taken mid morning, the street is situated in the city centre and it’s never really empty, while I was down this street there was nobody there, so I set my camera up to take a photo

Lighting

During the late afternoon this street can get some amazing contrasty shadows due to the high buildings on one side

Equipment

I used my canon 2000D with my 50mm f1.8

Inspiration

I like that it was empty, which is never really is as it’s in the city centre and well used. I wanted to take a photo with there nobody been around

Editing

Yes at the time I only used snapseed to edit my photos. I used a little editing, brought down the exposure, add a bit of contrast, and made the blacks a big more black, and cropped it for Instagram

In my camera bag

I know have a canon EOS RP, my 16-35mm L series lens, my 50mm f1.8, my RF35mm f1.8. My manfrotto tripod, and a small tripod as well. and my Lume Cube air.

Feedback

Maybe try it when it’s dark as it’s lit beautifully at night, but again a busy street to shoot at night. Use the leasing lines of the path at each side to set your composition
