Location
This photo was taken in Maksimir Park, Zagreb. Park is a large area of forest, meadows and lakes. Mandarin ducks live free on those lakes. They were resting on this branch over the lake and since it was a small branch they were close to each other.Time
It was morning, the sun was up and the ducks were still sleepy. Not me.Lighting
Morning light just pushing through the woods, the sun was still quite low.Equipment
Canon EOS 50D, Sigma 150-600 on monopod.Inspiration
The ducks were close to each other and the allowed me to get close. The angle was perfect and I managed to get my ducks in a row. When the central duck turned to the opposite side, I knew it was a great shot.Editing
Minor adjustment of levels and sharpening. In my camera bag
Camera body CANON EOS 90D, 10-18, 50, 100 macro and 150-600. Monopod and some cleaning supplies.Feedback
Go out early in the morning, before crowds. Get to know the area and where they like to rest. Approach them slowly, step by step. You can see on their behavior when you get too close.
