This Photo was taken in a place called QUARRY PARK & NATURE PRESERVE in Waite Park Minnesota. The quarry was a working gravel pit for sometime until it was closed and became a Nature Preserve. This place is a wonderful because of its diversity. There are deep granite pits with crystal clear water in them to wooded walk ways down tree covered paths. there is also large prairies and wetlands. a photographers playground.Time
This picture was taken in the around noon in the Fall of 2018. This picture stands out because it was a gloomy day and the sun just peeked through for just a minute to make the ray shine down to get this shot.Lighting
I was looking for a morning shot, and as the day went on I thought that I would not get the lighting or the setting that I wanted. but the sun came out long enough to get this shot. the haze added to the drama and made the lighting just right.Equipment

I wanted a great fall picture, because here in Minnesota the past couple of falls the color did not come out.So when I got there on that day with the colors the way were on that day, I was hoping I could get what I was looking for. What I had in mind was a walk down a trail in the fall and when I saw this view in front of me I took the shot and hope for the best. So I think that I got exactly what I was looking for in this Picture.Editing
I used both Photoshop and Lightroom for post. I brought out the highlights and the shadows along with adding some color contrast.. I also did some dodge and burning to the image where I thought I thought it looked good.In my camera bag
In my bag I carry a 5D MK IV and a 7D MKII for cameras. For lens I have Sigma 150-600mm contemporary for wild life and a Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS III USM I use for multi purpose wildlife, portraits and some landscape.I also Have a Canon EF 17-40mm L for Landscape and Real Estate. I also have an External flash along with a bunch of SD cards and Batteries, as well as a Tripod.Feedback
The advice I would give here is be patient, look everywhere and keep you eyes open. and the real biggie is always be ready, you never know when that perfect shot will happen. with this shot I had less then a Minute to setup and take the shot. I have lost many awesome shots by not being ready, or distracted by someone talking to me. so my biggest piece of advice is to be aware of what is happening around you, and always be ready to take the shot.
