Location
This photo was taken in my home studio three years ago.Time
This image has been one of my most popular work so far. It has received numerous awards too. This was taken at around 2pm in my studio.Lighting
I wanted to create a dramatic light wherein the flowers around her framing her beautifully. I want the light to focus on her face and expression. I used a two light set up for this image. One light is feathered directly on top of her and one light is firing bare behind me towards the window.Equipment
I used a Nikon d810, 24-70mm which is my favorite lens for studio portrait work. Lights are from Elinchrom using BRX250 and a 100 deep octa rota modifier.Inspiration
I love taking photos of women and creating images that captures their beauty and focusing more on their eyes. I have always been inspired by the elements of nature especially flowers and plants. I want to have a statement to the viewers that every time they looked at this image, they will stop and pay attention.Editing
I composite some of the flowers around to be able to get that nice framing around her. All done in Photoshop. In my camera bag
My camera bag is always with me every time I go to work and do location photoshoots too. At the moment, I have the new CANON EOS R5, the new RF lens (50mm, 85mm, 70-200mm and 24-105mm)Feedback
My advice to those wanting to create something similar to this image is to start with a concept and a color palette that will work with your image. Simplicity is the key. Have a styling that works well together. Plan for it and make sure that you have the patience to work with that idea in mind.
