This puffin, "Lundi" in icelandic, was dancing on its rock in Latrabjarg Cliffs, Westfjords, Iceland, as I was waiting to have the good angle to shoot. This bird is very iconic in Iceland though it was hunted for a very long time. I find it simply majestic.

I took this photo at Látrabjarg cliffs, western Iceland. Fun Fact, that place is the westernmost point of Iceland and of... Europe! The journey to go there is not a simple one. I remember driving for many hours on dirt roads, along the fjords of western Iceland. It was a very unique and exciting experience as most of these roads were really steep and unsteady. It was absolutely worth every minute of it, to see my favourite bird, the puffin.Time
We arrived at the cliffs around 2 to 3 pm in the afternoon.Lighting
The sun was so bright, and I really wanted to focus on the little puffin. It was not easy to find a balance with the light reflecting on the ocean and bringing the puffin forward.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200, with a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Telephoto Zoom Lens. No stabiliser.Inspiration
One of my favourite things to shoot is wildlife. When I decided to take a trip to Iceland, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, I really wanted to see some of their unique wildlife and take some unique shots that I will remember for life. It was a motivation for me to drive all the way to the cliffs to see the puffins.Editing
I slightly edited the contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
Just my basic frame Nikon D3200, and two lenses, Nikon 18-55mm and Sigma 70-300.Feedback
Have patience, and don't be afraid of the heights because these little guys are hard to reach (with your lense)!
