Behind The Lens

Location

I was driving North to my family’s cottage on my birthday and saw these bright yellow fields of canola and just had to pull over the car to take a photo! I set my camera up on a stand with a timer and just happened to land that shot my very first jump. Talk about a little birthday magic.

Time

It was midday, perfect bluebird sky, a perfect summers day.

Lighting

It was a bright summer day.

Equipment

I had my canon eos camera with me, with a wide angle lens.

Inspiration

It was such a picture perfect day for Mother Nature. The sun was shining, the sky was the perfect shade of blue, and then I saw the vivid yellow of the canola and it was just such a joyful scene. It was my birthday, it was a great day, I was on my way up to a cottage (my happy place) I was literally jumping for joy.

Editing

Not really. I mildly adjust in photoshop just to let the natural beauty of nature shine through. It was such a perfect day it didn’t require much

In my camera bag

Canon EOS camera, stand, a wide angle lens and a standard one, and an extra battery. And lots of memory cards!

Feedback

Not really other than never leave your bag behind! You never know when inspiration will strike. I’m sure the cars driving by me on the road thought I was strange - but I didn’t care. Go for the shot if you see it!!
