This photo was taken at the California State Fair 2018

Time

After going just about every night to the fair lugging around all my gear searching, this shot finally jumped out at me... it was the end of the night so the large crowds finally started to clear... what better time then now

Lighting

With no solid lighting other then the neon glow drawing my attention, I knew this was it... the tones were perfect between the greens and subtle blues, most challenging part was holding my arm still while reaching for the shutter because i had forgotten my remote this night.

Canon 5dmk iv Irix 15mm 2.4 Slik tripod 110mm lens ball

Inspiration

Everything about the fair was inspired in this shot, I have always been drawn to bright lights, and what better place to create a new perspective then at the fair.

Editing

I used LR to clean up a few soft spots in the image, and also to bring the reflection in the ball itself out. Bringing highlights down I have found really brings hard definitions to harsh lighting at night some times.

In my camera bag

Always have my canon 5dmk iv along with my irix 15mm Sigma 24mm Hoya red intesifier filter And slik tripod....
