Stump Art

This is a ‘Stump Art’ composition that i put together by stacking, leaning
and hooking stumps and interestingly shaped pieces of wood ti find
In the game reserve behind my home. I do that until the piece feels ‘done’
at which time i will photograph it from all angles and directions anytime
of the day or night. It never fails to surprise me because the pictures
never come out as they appeard when shooting. I do not name them because
i have heard what the viewers ‘minds eye’ sees and never are two alike.
The viewer also develops a relationship with the photo because they love to
point out out different aspects of the photo while describing what they see.
They also love to try to see what other viewers see. If i were to name the pictures
it would take away the viewers ‘minds eye’ as they would be trying to look for the name in the picture.
And i love to hear all the different things people see in each composition.
So i leave the naming to the individual.
