I took this image on waters edge of the Cumberland River. The Cumberland River is a major waterway of the Southern United States. The 688-mile-long river drains almost 18,000 square miles of southern Kentucky and north-central Tennessee.Time
I took this image around 8 a.m. in the morning.Lighting
The scene I was witnessing was simply spectacular! I wanted to capture the essence of calmness that I was witnessing and how the suns rays reflected from the waters surface producing a golden glow effect against the leaves on the trees.Equipment
This images was captured with a Nikon D7100 camera with a Sigma 18-35 mm lensInspiration
My friends and I rented a house boat for a week on the Cumberland River. I was amazed by the beauty of the river's edge and how it transformed from dawn to dusk, from natures display of fog in the morning and sunsets in the evenings throughout the rock formations. I became mesmerized with the landscapes and driven to capture random images with my camera to share with others.Editing
I enhanced the colors and the light direction of this image with Smart Photo Editor Studio software and the bloom and brightness with PicMonkey software. In my camera bag
I typically carry a full frame Nikon D750 and crop sensor Nikon D7100 camera and my favorites lens; a Nikon 70-200 mm lens, a Sigma 24-70 mm lens, a Sigma 18-35 mm lens and a Nikon prime 85 mm lens.Feedback
I have learned that I never know when an opportunity may arise to capture an amazing image of landscapes or objects depending on where I will be from day to day, so I typically carry a camera with me at all times. I view landscapes and objects differently since I have been taking photography and see much more beauty in them than I ever did without using a camera. So my advise, is to always be on the look out for that perfect shot and you will be amazed at how much more you will actually see by paying attention to your surroundings.
